Level 1 Rugby Refereeing Course

The CARFU Referee Society will be offering a Level 1 Officiating Courseon Saturday, March 3rd. Class begins at 8:00am and the course will last to approximately 5:00pm.

This will be held at Sycamore High School, Spartan Trail, Sycamore, IL.(Google Maps).

Free and plentiful parking is in front of the school. Enter at door E3. We will be in the cafeteria/all purpose room.

The Level 1 Rugby Refereeing Course is a beginner level course. Refereecertification is required for all referees who referee any US match that potentially The Level 1 Rugby Refereeing Course is a beginner level course. Referee leads to a national championship. This course has no prerequisites and individuals that complete the course and pass the on-site open book test will have completed the academic requirements for safely refereeing rugby matches.

Participants should be CIPP registered with USA Rugby. The course includes both classroom and on field practical exercises so dress for the weather (no air conditioning for the classroom portion). Participants should bring a pen/pencil and a chair. All other materials will be provided.

The instructors will be Martin Dunne, Des Jones and Dave Carter.

Deadline for registration is February 24, 2011 and preregistration is strongly encouraged.

Students should complete an online law exam prior to the course at www.irblaws.com and bring the completion certificate to the class. Course fee, with checks made out to CARFU Referee Society, is $75. The fee covers all USA fees ($50), lunch, beverages, and site rental. If using the online USA registration at www.usarugby.org, the site fee for CARFU RRS of $25 will still need to be paid at the clinic (if using the online registration don’t forget to bring your receipt to the class). Use of the online registration is not required. Walk-in cost is $100

2012 CARFU AGM

All,

The 2012 Annual General Meeting(AGM) will be held on February 4th from 10:00am until 12:00pm. College representatives must attend the special college session immediatel following the general meeting. Coaches and school administrators are encouraged to attend this session. This will be held at the Irish American Heritage Center, which is the same location of the past few years. All teams are required to send a representative.

2012 IYRA AGM

ILLINOIS YOUTH RUGBY WINTER MEETING

The Illinois Youth Rugby Association will hold their Winter Meeting on Saturday January 14, 2012 starting at 9am.  The meeting will be held in AthletiCo's Training Facility at 709 Enterprise Drive, Oak Brook, Illinois 60523. 2012 Midwest AGM

The site has been set for the Midwest Territory Annual General Meeting on 1/27/2012 & 1/28/2012

All meetings will be held in the Holiday Inn - Willowbrook, IL located at 7800 Kingery Hwy, Willowbrook, IL 60527.

 

The Senior and College Competition Meetings will be held on Friday evening, 1/27.

Note that Tom Rooney is unavailable for the meetings. There will be a conference call, for the college reps on a date to be determined, prior to the AGM. If a follow-up meeting is necessary, for the college reps, Jeremiah Johnson will chair a college meeting on 1/27

The General Session will be held all day on 1/28.

There is no obligation for individual clubs to attend, but all are welcome if so deisred.

 

Single and double rooms are being held for 1/27 & 1/28, for $89.00/night, under Midwest Rugby Football Union. Our contact is Debbie Gallo. The cutoff date for the room reservations is 1/6/2012.
